Car A57-January Report

During the 2012 season car S55 (now A57) sustained a lot of body damage. Not only from racing but in transporting the car to and from the events. It needed to have a thicker layer of aluminum to replace the old trim coil.

After consulting our sheet metal sponsor .040 thick aluminum was donated to our team. It can be annealed, formed, and welded. This is not something you can do with trim coil.

We are currently making patterns, cutting, and forming new panels.

Car S55---January Report

New for this year we are constantly looking for improved handling and lighter construction methods.

We decided early in our planning that S55 will be another front wheel drive. Each year we try to make our drive wheel more race durable and reliable. We chose an electric scooter wheel again and machine the center to accept dual wheel bearings on each side. It is smoother and runs super true. At this point we are working on the rear axle and brake hubs.
